Swazi Youth Future Visions
Related to country: Swaziland

Hello,

I am interested in what the members of the Swaziland country site for TIG have to say about the future of their country. I was born in Swaziland however left at a very young age however I have travelled back to the country off and on for extended periods of time and continue to follow the political, social and economic developments that appear in the news.

Lately I am interested in learning what the next generation, that is the Swazi youth, have in mind for their country? What are the concerns of Swazi youth today? What do they think of the political, social and economic status of their country? Do they have any suggestions? What about the monarchy? I know that in the past the government and monarchy have made it difficult for Swazis to discuss and express their grievances towards the monarchy, however in this safe electronic environment, I am hoping to find out more about the actual realties, ideas and opinions of Swazi youth like me.

Please feel free to post your thoughts, responses, and questions to this blog.

Swazi Sister.

Swazi Youth Future Visions
Im quite not sure what I am about to say because its not as I dont know what to do but being acceptence with the things in Swaziland. The people of Swaziland, including us young people make ourselves believe our country is ok yet at the back of our minds we have something else. Even those who are trying make things right are doing it in a very bad way, ways that makes everybody think they are against the manarchy yet we want to live freely in this country. By so sayng, I want to tell you that the number is very low and the conscience is not upto date as to how to deal with these issues. Im really willing to give yopu more but Im curently in a mission t provoke my fellow youth so that we get clear outline of our visions and a way forward. We have a lot of visions but we are not sure about. We want to do something (in fact some have started doing it) but doing it the wrong way, in fact very far from being the right way. Let me promise you, little by little though we need urgency, we will triumph.

Hello,

I was so happy to read your response. What you are saying is very powerful. I think that we should continue to converse however perhaps via email.

here is my email,
skay@sfu.ca

please write to me so that we can continue to discuss this. I am planning a trip to Swaziland in the near future so your interest in creating change in Swaziland is very encouraging.

Cheers,
perhaps you could also help me with Siswati.
